Jean Ziegler’s mandates as independent expert of the United Nations have been supported over the years by a team of researchers.

The Research Unit on the Right to Food at the Graduate Institute of International Studies consisting of Sally-Anne Way, Christophe Golay and Claire Mahon provided research support to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food. During his mandate, the Special Rapporteur also enjoyed support by staff of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Since 2008, the Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights ensured research and legal support to Jean Ziegler, member of the Advisory Committee of the Human Rights Council.  The Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights was founded by Dr. Golay and Ms. Mahon. Ioana Cismas is a researcher at the Geneva Academy.
